Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine was born and raised to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her mother Pam is a former backup singer for Philadelphia International Records. At the age of five, old, her father landed job as curator for The city's Historic Strawberry Mansion in the Strawberry Mansion section, and her family moved into the historical landmark. The 2005 graduate from the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in which she was the vocal music instructor. Sullivan was a contralto singer for the choir for children and later just a few years later she joined in the adult choir. He was exposed to secular music but was at first sporadic "I was doing solos in the church, and I was asked to join an gospel label when I was 11, but I was not yet ready," she recalls. At that time, McDonald's held a contest with children from large cities. I was allowed to sing "Accept what God allows" during It's Showtime At the Apollo. And the audience was very supportive. Stevie Wonder sang her part on his birthday, 13 years old. Sullivan, at age 15 began her career with Jive Records. It was her first time signing with Jive Records around the age of fifteen. She recorded an entire album. The album did not see release. Sullivan was later dismissed at the hands of the company. They maintained a friendship with Missy Elliott, who produced a number of the tracks on her debut album, including the buzz single "Backstabbers" that was written and produced by Timbaland and composed by Elliott.
